The Apostle Paul and Evangelization presented by the Rev. David Beaudry, M.A. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations ...” (Mt 28:19). Through the lens of St. Paul in the Letter to the Ephesians, we will discover a renewed sense of purpose and how to prepare ourselves to fulfill Christ’s command to evangelize.
A graduate of Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and a priest of the Diocese of Green Bay for 42 years, Fr. Dave Beaudry currently serves as pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle in Newton and Roncalli Catholic Schools as Director of Mission and Discipleship. He also completed 25 years as Instructor with the former Holy Family College, Manitowoc.
Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist presented by The Rev. Matt Colle, M.S. This talk bears the same title as the book authored by Brant Pitre and given to parishioners at St. Francis of Assisi Parish as a Christmas gift last year. Like the book, we will go back almost two thousand years to the Last Supper when the Eucharist was instituted, and we will see and understand the Eucharist through first century Jewish eyes. You will never look at Da Vinci’s famous painting, The Last Supper, the same again.
Fr. Matthew Colle is an associate pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc. He also is the chaplain at Roncalli High School. He grew up in Luxemburg, WI and earned degrees in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the University of Idaho before entering seminary. His seminary studies took place at St. Francis de Sales in Milwaukee and the North American College in Rome. He has been a priest for two and a half years.
Healing: Part of the Good Life presented by Dianne Vadney, M.T.S. How do we reconcile the brokenness of lived human experience with the divine plan for love and community God designed? What can we practically do to make progress?
Dianne Vadney is both an alum and a former campus minister for Roncalli, and parent of two current students at the high school. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Catholic University of America and her Master of Theological Studies from the John Paul II Institute of Studies for Marriage and Family in Washington, D.C. She has worked in ministry for youth, families and college students and is the Director of Campus Ministry at Marian University in Fond du Lac. She and her husband, Greg, are members of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc and are blessed to be parenting their six children, spanning in age from freshmen in college to 4K.
Mary: Our Model of Discipleship presented by Taylor Geiger, M.A. In the Gospel according to St. Luke, we are presented with two similar stories with vastly different outcomes; the angel Gabriel’s announcements to Zechariah and the Blessed Virgin Mary. In this talk, we will explore this dichotomy and what it can teach us about discipleship and how to say yes to what God is doing in our lives. Taylor Geiger was born, raised, and still lives in Manitowoc with his wife and their three daughters. He graduated from Holy Family College with a degree in theology in 2015 and earned an M.A. in Theology from the Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado in 2022. Geiger serves on the Mission and Theology team at Roncalli High School as a freshman theology teacher and campus minister.
