The Roncalli High School Library is open to students and staff every school day from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. Students may check out and return books and use the library's computers and printer before and after school, between classes, and during lunch. Teachers may send students to the library during class time or bring in an entire class for research or book check out.Like most public and school libraries, Roncalli High School organizes books by the Dewey Decimal System. Fiction books are arranged in alphabetical order by the author’s last name. Nonfiction books are arranged by subject and each subject is arranged by a range of numbers. Shelves are marked with numbers and letters to make finding books easier. Miss Hannah DCamp, library and media specialist, is always willing to help students find specific titles or topics or make suggestions for students just looking for something to read.
Roncalli High School uses the Follett Destiny online library system. Students may access the online library catalog from anywhere using the link provided. It is recommended that each student bookmark the link for ease of access. Books may be searched by title, author, or subject. By clicking on the book you want, you can find out whether or not it’s available.
Books and DVDs may be checked out for a four-week period. Students use the barcode on their student IDs to check books out and back in again. We do not charge overdue fines but if students lose or badly damage a book or DVD, they will have to pay for the cost of replacement.
Returning students and staff may check out books over the summer as well.
