Roncalli High School senior Brayden Reimer competed at the Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association State powerlifting meet Sunday, March 5 at Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton. Reimer took third place overall, breaking the state record for squat (507 lbs / 230 kg) and qualifying for Nationals. Nationals will take place in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina March 30-April 2.
"We want to wish Brayden the best of luck at Nationals,” said Nathan Kaderabek, athletic director for Roncalli Catholic Schools. “His work ethic and the amount of time he has spent in weight room to prepare himself for this moment has shown that hard work pays off."
Reimer, son of John and Theresa, is coached by Coach Amber Pheifer and Coach Jake Wolter. This is his first year competing in powerlifting. In addition to powerlifting, Reimer also participates in football, and track and field. Reimer plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh following graduation in spring 2023 and majoring in Strength and Conditioning.
Reimer would like to thank everyone for all their support, especially to those who came out to watch him.
