Judges presented by Paul Schweigl, Th.D.
Massacres, human sacrifice and grisly assassinations can all be found in Judges. What is a Christian to make of such dark reading?
Paul Schweigl is a Roncalli alumnus, holding degrees from St. Norbert College, the University of Notre Dame, and La Salle University. He has taught theology at Roncalli since 2011. He lives in Sheboygan with his wife and three children and is a member of Holy Name of Jesus parish.
The Call to Holiness presented by the Rev. David Beaudry, M.A.
Exploring the meaning of holiness through the lenses of Scripture and the Second Vatican Council document, Lumen Gentium, Chapter V; discerning this profound call in our lives.
A graduate of Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and a priest of the Diocese of Green Bay for 41 years, the Rev. David Beaudry currently serves as pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community in Newton and as Director of Mission and Discipleship for Roncalli Catholic Schools. He also completed 25 years as Instructor with the former Holy Family College, Manitowoc.
Eucharistic Miracles presented by the Rev. Matthew Colle, M.S.
In the Eucharist, we are reminded that Jesus remains with us until the end of the age. Over the centuries, miracles have occurred with consecrated hosts that remind us that this is not bread, but rather the body, blood, soul and divinity of Our Lord. Come learn about a few of these Eucharistic Miracles and strengthen your faith in Jesus’s presence in the Eucharist.
The Rev. Matthew Colle is an associate pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc. He also is the chaplain at Roncalli High School. He grew up in Luxemburg, WI and earned degrees in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the University of Idaho before entering seminary. His seminary studies took place at St. Francis de Sales in Milwaukee and the North American College in Rome. He has been a priest for a year and a half.
Humanae Vitae: Considerations 55 Years Later presented by Dianne Vadney, M.T.S.
Should the acts that bring about life and love ever separate their ends? A generation later, how has the freedom to do so affected human society? This class will review the history leading up to this document, read key points and excerpts of the actual document, consider the options available and the consequences, concluding with considerations for whether and what help is available to modern couples.
Dianne Vadney, an alumnae of Roncalli and a former member of their Campus Ministry staff, received a Biology degree from The Catholic University of America and her Master of Theological Studies from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family.
