Roncalli High School to host State Champs Banner Recognition Event

Roncalli High School, part of Roncalli Catholic Schools, invites members of its state-winning championship teams to mark their calendars for a special event to be held Thanksgiving weekend. A State Champs Banner Recognition Event will be held at the high school, 2000 Mirro Drive in Manitowoc, on Saturday, Nov. 25 to recognize the accomplishments of each team that has won a championship title in the school’s athletic history.

The event, which is open to the public, will include basketball games against Sheboygan Lutheran held throughout the afternoon beginning at noon with the JV2 boys basketball game. Admission to games will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. The remainder of the schedule for the afternoon is as follows:

JV boys game at 1:30 p.m.
JV girls game at 3 p.m.
Varsity girls game at 4:30 p.m.
State Champs Banner Recognition acknowledgement
Varsity boys game at 6 p.m.

“This is a unique opportunity for Roncalli High School to recognize the championship efforts of our athletic teams,” said Nathan Kaderabek, athletic director for Roncalli Catholic Schools. “Roncalli is fortunate to have received 21 State titles to date. We are thankful for the impact the individuals of each of these teams had as student-athletes during their time at Roncalli in their respective sports and continue to make as servant leaders within their communities since graduation.”

Members of each state championship-winning team in attendance that day will be asked to come down to the gym floor during the acknowledgement portion of the event. Teams will be announced in chronological order. A reception with light refreshments will be held in the high school cafeteria following the varsity boys game. State trophies also will be on display for viewing and players will be invited to take photos with their teams and guests. No RSVP is required to attend the reception and is included with game admission.
