Roncalli High School, part of Roncalli Catholic Schools, is pleased to share senior Brayden Reimer signed his national letter of intent with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Dec. 26, 2022.
Reimer, son of John and Theresa Reimer of Two Rivers, will be playing football as a running back at UW-Oshkosh after graduating from Roncalli High School in spring 2023. Reimer, who came to Roncalli High School as a freshman, also has run track all four years and played basketball his freshman, sophomore and junior years.
"Brayden is an outstanding young man,” said Paul Kinsella, Roncalli High School football coach. “He has been a great leader for our program on and off the field. Brayden’s success is the result of countless hours of hard work. I am confident he will have a great career as a college football player. He will represent Roncalli very well.”
Nathan Kaderabek, athletic director for Roncalli Catholic Schools, echoed Coach Kinsella’s sentiments.
“Brayden is an extremely dedicated student-athlete,” said Kaderabek. “The amount of time and effort he has put into the classroom, weightroom and field throughout the years proves he will make Roncalli proud and succeed in future endeavors.”
As a freshman, Reimer suited up on varsity, playing only a short time on special teams. During his sophomore year, he was second string behind his older brother, Derek ’21. Reimer was later given the opportunity to become the varsity starting running back when Derek broke his collarbone midway through the season. Reimer also has started at linebacker three full seasons. Reimer’s notable sports highlights include being captain of the track team and a state track appearance sophomore year in the 400m dash as the Eastern Wisconsin Conference champion; being a member of the state championship basketball team in 2022; and setting records including most carries in a football game (33), most rushing yards in a football season for Roncalli (1,621 rush yards), and the school record for the 100m dash record (11.02 seconds).
Reimer plans to pursue a degree in sports medicine with a major in strength and conditioning at UW-Oshkosh.
